ABOUT Simon
Simon Addison is a full-time, professional Highland Piper with over 25 years of experience playing the Great Highland Bagpipe. Originally trained as a classical trumpeter from the age of 12, Simon began piping at 19, having tuition at the world-renowned College of Piping in Glasgow and also received personal tuition from a former military piper.
He went on to serve as Pipe Sergeant with the former Cwmbran and District Pipes and Drums in South Wales and now focuses purely on solo performance. In 2021, Simon was appointed Piper to the City of Hereford, a role in which he performs regularly at civic and ceremonial occasions.
Today, Simon works as a prominent, full-time solo piper, providing music for funerals, weddings, memorials and public events across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Gloucestershire, The West Midlands and South Wales and even further afield. In addition to his performance work, he also offers private tuition and advice on the Great Highland Bagpipe and also plays the Scottish Smallpipes.
